Managing and analyzing large datasets in Dataverse can often be challenging, especially when dealing with complex filters and advanced queries. However, with the introduction of Natural Language Grid Filtering, users can now effortlessly find, filter, and sort their data using simple, intuitive language.

Instead of manually selecting filters from dropdowns or applying multiple conditions, you can describe what you’re looking for in plain English, and the system will automatically apply the relevant filters for you.

This feature significantly enhances productivity by eliminating the need for complex queries, helping users retrieve the right information faster.

Steps to Enable the Feature:

To enable this feature, follow these steps in the Power Platform admin center:

  • Go to the Power Platform admin center
  • Select your environment and open Settings
  • Expand the Product section and click on Features
  • Enable the Natural Language Grid and View Search

Once enabled, you can start using natural language filtering and search in your views.

1. Search and Filter with Ease

The prompt at the top of the grid allows users to type and search for the records they need. It serves as an intuitive way to find and filter data effortlessly.

For example, in the screenshot below, the grid has been filtered to show records created in the last 30 days. Just beside the prompt, users can also see the applied filter conditions. Additionally, searches can be performed based on multiple column values for more precise results.

2. Temporary Views for Quick Access

When filters are applied, a temporary view is created. Users can click on the Views option to find their filtered view (e.g., “Accounts created in the last 30 days”) in the view list. They also have the option to save this filtered view as a new personal view for future use.

3. Sorting for Better Organization

Now, let’s explore some sorting expressions to refine the results. In the screenshot below, the account grid records have been sorted based on their status.

4. Text-Based Search for Precision

Users can also perform a text-based search. For example, in the screenshot below, the records have been filtered to show accounts that contain ‘Sons’ in the account name.

  • Sort accounts by name, A to Z.
